ANDRO DOESN'T INCREASE MUSCLE STRENGTH

The hormones androstenediol and androstenedione are popular dietary
supplements known as "andro. Manufacturers of andro claim that it
increases muscle mass. However, a new study reveals that this claim may
be unfounded. What,s more, andro may actually spawn heart disease.

The study enrolled 50 men who took andro while participating in 12 weeks
of training. Subjects took androstenediol, androstenedione or no
supplement. No difference in muscle strength increase was seen between
the three cohorts. However, blood tests showed that andro boosted
estrogen levels. In addition, andro had a detrimental effect on lipid
profiles.
