SCIENTIFIC TESTS PROVE CHICKEN SOUP HAS MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

Grandma was right: Scientists have determined that chicken soup is an
effective remedy for colds and flu.

Investigators have found that homemade chicken soup inhibits neutrophil
migration, in turn warding off inflammation and preventing upper
respiratory infection. The individual components of the soup (chicken,
onions, sweet potato, parsnips, turnips, carrots, celery stems and
parsley) also exhibit medicinal properties. However, unlike the homemade
sort, commercial soups vary widely in their ability to inhibit
neutrophil migration, noted the study,s authors.
