ECHINACEA TEA FIGHTS FLU SYMPTOMS

The effectiveness of the herb echinacea in warding off flu symptoms is a
point of hot debate. Now a new report indicates that mode of
administration may play a significant role in the herb,s ability to
prevent illness. And, it seems that tea made from echinacea may be the
most effective form of delivery.

As part of the study, 95 people with early symptoms of cold or flu drank
five to six cups a day of either Echinacea Plus® tea or placebo drink
for one to five days. After two weeks, experimental subjects exhibited a
significantly lower rate of flu symptoms, compared with participants who
took placebo. No adverse effects were reported by any subject.

The study,s authors concluded that "treatment with Echinacea Plus® tea
at early onset of cold or flu symptoms was effective for relieving these
symptoms in a shorter period of time than a placebo.
