OVERWEIGHT DURING CHILDHOOD PREDICTS ADULT OBESITY
According to a just-published report, which tracked 6,767 people over 20 years,
overweight during childhood is a major predictor of obesity in adulthood.
Specifically, one-third of severely obese adults were overweight as children.
Researchers urge health-care providers to focus on preventing overweight in
pediatric patients, in order to ward off diseases associated with obesity in
later life.
