People Who Eat Soy Live Longer

A study — which tracked 13,355 men and 15,724 women in Japan — demonstrates that a diet rich in soy extends life expectancy.

During 7 years of follow-up, 2,062 participants died. Men and women who consumed the highest levels of soy were significantly less likely to die from any cause, compared with their counterparts who ate less soy. Women (but not men) with diets rich in omega-3 fatty acids were also at a decreased risk of death.
