ANTIBIOTIC USE DURING PREGNANCY TIED WITH ASTHMA RISK

Chiropractors and other wellness-oriented practitioners have long been wary about the misuse and overuse of antibiotic medication. Here’s yet another reason for concern: children whose mothers take antibiotics during pregnancy may have an elevated risk of developing allergy and asthma.

The study involved 24,690 British mothers and children. Subjects using antibiotics during pregnancy were significantly more likely to have a child with asthma, hay fever or eczema than mothers who avoided antibiotics.
