DO ANTIPERSPIRANTS CAUSE BREAST CANCER?

Antiperspirants are not linked with breast cancer, according to a recent study.

Researchers interviewed 1,606 women: 813 breast cancer patients and 793 healthy controls. Subjects were between the ages of 20 and 74 years. Volunteers answered questions about shaving under their arms and use of deodorant or antiperspirant.

Results showed that breast-cancer risks did not rise with antiperspirant or deodorant use — even if the product was applied within one hour after shaving. Underarm shaving was also not associated with likelihood of breast cancer.
